Fashion show to benefit Hingham Sports Partnership

A fashion show by Sara Campbell and luncheon hosted at Tosca made for a perfectly cheery occasion this afternoon all to benefit the Hingham Sports Partnership.  The HSP mission is to enhance the athletic programs and facilities for Hingham student athletes by providing financial support to compliment the school athletic budget.

Robin was proud to be there on behalf of her five boys: four athlete-sons and superstar-husband who happens to be President of The HSP!  What a great event and terrific organization.  Thanks to the town of Hingham and those who attended the event today!

Envious!..

So envious of Robin’s current status : The Viceroy, Anguilla!…  She is soaking up the sun and the incredibly gorgeous ambiance.  Not only is Anguilla’s landscape a little piece of heaven, the Viceroy itself, interiors designed by the likes of Kelly Wearstler, is a visual paradise.  Have a look!…

An artist we love…

If you know Robin at all, you know she has a real talent for design.  And, it didn’t come from just reading every issue of Vogue, Veranda, House Beautiful and Vanity Fair.  If you ask her, she would give much of the credit to the truly talented and inspirational artist, Patricia McCarthy, a lady Robin also has the privilege of calling, Mom.

Mrs. McCarthy’s watercolor paintings capture all the charm and beauty of coastal New England.  We’ve used several of her pieces in clients’ homes and have sold even more here at Robin’s Nest.  Below you will see a small collection of her pieces.  And, believe it or not they are even prettier in person. Come down to the shop and see for yourself!…

Robshaw at the BDC

Ok, so its clear that we’re crazy about John Robshaw, this being one of several blog posts about his line, which is why there was no chance we would miss him yesterday at the Boston Design Center.  Among many other events taking place at “The Look”, Robshaw held a lovely meet and greet at the Duralee showroom to promote his new line for Duralee (we love it of course!).  It was a great little gathering with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and John…first name basis now :) …couldn’t have been nicer!  We chatted with him about his many trips each year to India, about his Fall 2013 line which he is working on now and about the fun we have with all his designs.  He was very gracious, totally laid back and so funny!

Perfect timing, since we just got our new Robshaw Fall accessories in.  See photos below of the event along with some new Robshaw items to Robin’s Nest…. – Posted by Anne

KOBO is back at Robin’s Nest

Offered in a variety of memorable scents, packaged in chic, printed canisters each with their own adorable set of match sticks, the Kobo candle is one you won’t be able to live without.  They are made of domestically grown, sustainable soybeans and a cotton wick, which means they burn clean and are as friendly to the environment as they are to your home.  The soy also provides a longer burn life – 80 hours! – and helps provide a room-filling fragrance, one that does not overpower.

Come down to Robin’s Nest and grab one before they are all gone.  While you’re at it grab a few extra – they make excellent housewarming gifts!  With all the holiday parties in your near future you’ll be the best guest on the list with one of these in tow!…

Mercedes Benz fashion week heated up the runways with their Spring 2013 show in NYC last week.  The lines were a mix of bold, whimsical, feminine and fun.  We were so inspired by the variety of silhouettes and color combinations, we began lining up some of our favorite looks with room schemes that mimic one another.  check them out here…

A bedtime rhyme

Now that they are nestled all snug in their beds;

You’ve got time to reflect on their pillows and spreads.

Their comforters, headboards and perhaps some fresh paint;

Can make a sleeping child seem like a saint.
